Schiphol airport is one of the main transport hubs in Europe. It facilitates about 55 million passengers a year travelling all over the world. It is only 30 minutes away from the city center of Amsterdam (by cab or train).
The quickest way to get from Schiphol Airport to your hotel is to catch a train to Amsterdam Central Station. You can buy tickets either at the ticket desk in the main hallway or at the yellow machines (with a debit card). The way to the train station is clearly marked once you are in the arrivals area.
Direct trains to Amsterdam Central Station run every 10 to 15 minutes. The trip takes about 15 minutes. The person at the ticket desk or information spots can inform you from which platform to take the train (trains to Amsterdam Central leave generally from platform 3).
From Amsterdam Central Station to your hotel, depending on the location, you can either walk, use public transport or a cab (it should cost around 15-20 Euros).
Close to the business school & conference venue there are several trams and metro stops. The closest metro stop is ‘Weesperplein’ (metro 51, 54 53). Tram 10 & 7 also stop at ‘Weesperplein’. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the conference venue. Tram 14 & 9 stop at ‘Plantage Kerklaan’ (close to the zoo and again a 5 minute walk to the conference venue). The metro and trams also provide easy access to Amsterdam Central Station. Tickets for the tram can be purchased from the driver, tickets for the metro can be purchased at onsite ticket machines.
